About Dr. Parker                                          













 

 

Timothy L. Parker, MD is board certified through the American Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.   Dr. Parker is a native of Des Moines, Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa where he was an honors program scholarship recipient, an honors program member, and an inductee into 2 honor societies: Omicron Delta Kappa and Order of Omega. He then attended medical school at the University of Iowa, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class. 

He completed a 1-year internship in Internal Medicine and General Surgery at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona before performing 3 years of dermatology residency at Marquette University/Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.   He concluded his training with an intensive 1-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic and dermatologic surgery with one of the nation's premier cutaneous surgeons, John A. Zitelli, MD in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

In addition to Mohs micrographic surgery, he has expertise in the area of facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal.  During the course of his practice, he has performed more than 13,000 Mohs surgeries

In order to provide the best service possible to those afflicted with skin cancer, Dr. Parker limits his practice to malignant and some pre-malignant skin conditions; he does not provide general or cosmetic dermatologic services. 

Dr. Parker employs 3 registered nurses (RN), 2 surgical histo-technicians, plus several front office support staff members.  Each member of our staff is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our patients in a caring and compassionate manner.

He is married to Beth Parker, also from Des Moines, Iowa. They have 3 children, Samantha born in 1992, Nicholas born in 1994, and Madison born in 1997.  In their free time, the Parkers are likely to be found attending their children’s numerous activities and sports. They also enjoy golfing, traveling, and supporting the fine arts.
